Chance Thomas returning with "Dark" score for Mordor expansion, Anniversary soundtrack now available!

calwhitebark / Jun 04, 2017
Standing Stone recently confirmed following a Twitch stream Q&A with Chance Thomas that the beloved LOTRO composer will indeed be returning to score the Mordor expansion due to be released later this summer. Chance Thomas was let go during LOTRO's days at Turbine with WB Games sighting cost as their reason for cutting the game's biggest composer. Mr. Thomas is currently looking over the Mordor expansion and various illustrations of Middle Earth at the Standing Stone studio to gain inspiration for what he says will be his "darkest" score for the game yet.

A 10th Anniversary album has been released and is currently available on Huge Sound Records. You can purchase and download the album by following this link. This is the 4th album to be released following the Shadows of Angmar, Mines of Moria and Riders of Rohan albums. There is no word yet as to whether or not there will be a full album release of Chance Thomas' Mordor score to accompany the expansion's release.
